Hi, I’m Alexa — and I’m done pretending incredible travel has to cost a fortune.
A Swiss girl who figured out how to stay in stunning, unique hotels without paying influencer prices.
The Story
I’m based in Switzerland — one of the most expensive countries on the planet. So when it comes to making travel budgets work, I’ve had to get creative.
I’m not a backpacker. I don’t do hostels or overnight buses. What I do is find those impossibly cool, locally-owned, characterful places that somehow nobody’s talking about yet — and I stay there for a fraction of what the Instagram crowd is paying down the road.
Think boutique jungle properties in Koh Chang. Hidden guesthouses with rooftop pools. Beach bungalows that feel like a secret. That’s the sweet spot I live in. And that’s what this blog is about.
What This Blog Is
Flew The Alps is for travellers who refuse to choose between quality and budget.
You don’t want to rough it. But you also don’t want to spend three months saving up for one week away. You want the real experience — the good food, the beautiful stay, the feeling of having truly been somewhere — without the financial hangover.
That’s exactly what I write about.
Why Trust Me
Every recommendation on this blog is somewhere I’ve actually been, stayed, or eaten. No press trips, no paid placements, no fluff.
Just honest guides from someone who researches obsessively, travels intentionally, and always — always — finds a better deal than the algorithm suggested.
